Bwin.Party Urges French Authorities to Stop Bet365

The newly formed company Bwin. Party has made a requested, via its CEO Norbert Teufelberger, asking the French authorities camp down the illegal activities of the sports betting companies that are operating within France without a proper license and specifically asked that the authorities clamp down on Bet365 one of Bwin. Party's biggest rivals.

The French market used to be open until the government decided to regulate it for the security of its residents and for taxation purposes once the authorities realized how much of French money is making its way to offshore betting companies without the state having the ability to recover any funds.

Bwin and Party were two of the biggest players in the international online betting world and after year-long negotiations have completed their merger at the beginning of April 2011 and started operating as one company.

The new company enjoys a French sports betting license courtesy of the license that Bwin obtained prior to the merger. The company offers French punters an online sportsbook that is fully licensed and supervised by the French authorities.

The recent demands of the French government are a protective measure as Bwin. Party is interested in protecting its investment in licensing for the French market and is not interested in losing clients and revenue due to companies such as Bet365 that operate in the market without a license.

Last week the French authorities stopped 5Dimes that was operating without a license in the French market and now Bwin.Party expect the authorities to do the same with regards to Bet365.
