Gambling inside Hotel Rooms is on the Horizon

Most gamblers know that when they want to get their game on they need to travel to a jurisdiction where gambling is legal and licensed casinos and poker rooms are operating, or they need to go online and play at one of the reputable online casinos offered for players from their country.

It’s a common expectation from gamblers who visit casino resorts such as Las Vegas, Monte Carlo or Macau to leave their hotel room and join all other gamblers on the casino floor. It did not matter if the player was interested in playing a multi-player game at one of the casino tables or play on their own, glued to a single slot machine.

All players were always expected to play their favorite games at the casino and in many casino resorts the casino floor is the only place within the casino where gambling was allowed.

Now it seems that gambling in one's hotel room might become legal in the state of Nevada thanks to the operations of Cantor Gaming, a gambling licensee of financial group Cantor Fitzgerald.

Cantor Gaming specializes in mobile gaming solution and has developed a mobile gambling apparatus that guests can use in their hotel room to gamble without heading down to the casino floor.

The current gambling laws in Nevada have a provision that prohibits players from using mobile devices and gamble from their hotel room.

When the issue of mobile gambling was approached last year it encountered strong resistance due to fears of underage gambling and lack of enforceable measures to combat such gambling.

According to Cantor Gaming's website they are the first company to be licensed by the Nevada Gaming Commission to manufacture, distribute and operate mobile gaming systems in the state and is currently providing such systems to The Venetian, Palazzo and The M Resort Spa Casino.

Their current mobile devices allow gambling from location that are close to the casino floor but do not reach as far as guest rooms.

However if the new amendment to the current gambling law is passed this could change and we could see a future Las Vegas where gamblers get mobile gambling devices and never need to enter the casino floor to make a bet.

The voting committee needs to approve the bill amendment by Friday 20th May or the bill will not be passed.
