Kahnawake Gaming Commission Makes Changes to Better Protect Players

The Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) has introduced two changes to its operating procedures which will offer players a better service and greater protection in their interactions with online casinos in matters concerning self-exclusion from casinos and issues of dispute resolution.

Until 2012 any players playing in Kahnawake licensed online casinos or poker rooms were able to contact the operator and ask to set up deposit limits or ask for temporary self-exclusion or permanent self-exclusion.

From 2012 any player will be able to contact the KGC directly and ask for different measures of self-exclusion to be implemented for them. The benefit in informing the KGC directly is that from now on the KGC will do all the legwork for you and ensure that the self-exclusion is set in place not only with the online casino you are currently playing on, but will implement it for all their license holders.

The second change introduced by the KGC is concerning their dispute resolution procedure by appointing a new Dispute Resolution Officer, with a dedicated complaints e-mail address as all complaints must be accepted in writing.

The new complaint procedure will ensure players get a confirmation of their complaint within 24 hours of it being filled. The KGC will commence an investigation and allow the online casino up to seven days to reply. Once the investigation is completed the KGC will announce its decision and attempt to reconcile the parties.
