Las Vegas Tourists In Helicopter Crash

Las Vegas, Nevada might be one of the most exciting cities in the world and the gambling capital of the United States. However a group of four Las Vegas tourists got a bit more excitement than they bargained for when they took a flight from Las Vegas to the Hoover Dam which is located on the boarder of Nevada and Arizona.

The helicopter they were in crashed. The Crash happened on Wednesday December 7th around 5pm local time and very few details emerged so far as rescuers barely had a chance to start the search and rescue operation due to nightfall. The search will continue today and in the mountains between Lake Mead and Henderson.

Rescuers say the crash happened along the usual route taken by tour helicopters. The helicopter belonged to Sundance Helicopters, based in Las Vegas. The company won several awards over the years for its safety measures and customer service.

Sundance Helicopters carry a fleet of 23 helicopters that fly over 160,000 passengers every year from Las Vegas to neighboring resorts and also carries day and night flights in the eliminated Las Vegas skyline (after all it is the city of lights with more light bulbs per person than any other city in the world).

There has been no confirmation yet as to the identity of the four passengers or the pilot and although the helicopter crashed in a mountainous area, rescuers still carry some hope for an early Christmas miracle where they might find some of the crash victims injured rather than killed.
