Playtech Continues its Expansion

The biggest online gambling software provider Playtech has purchased Intelligent Gaming Solutions (IGS) for an initial sum of £2.5 million, with additional payments expected in the next three years depending on IGS performance.

The contract stipulates that Playtech has a claim to the full issued share capital of Intelligent Gaming Solutions.

Intelligent Gaming Solutions is a casino management system supplier that power brick and mortar casinos in Greece and the UK. Some of its clients include casinos operated by the Aspers Group.

Playtech CEO has stated that the cooperation between online and land based gaming services is fast becoming an important element in the world's gaming industry.

The purchase brings Playtech a step closer to its planned penetration to the offline gaming market and is positioning the company as the leading independent software provider that holds a unique competitive advantage over other software suppliers by being able to offer cross-platform solutions.

Intelligent Gaming Solutions was excited by Playtech's Videobet software and technology, which according to IGS' Martin Sykes sets out "new standards in server supported gaming" and the partnership, will allow IGS's planned expansion and will allow moving forward with "leading cross platform solution".

Martin Sykes concluded that "we very much look forward to the future as part of the Playtech team".
