Playtech is nearing the final stages towards acquisition of casino games provider Ash Gaming for an amount that is yet to be disclosed.

A source that is very close to the deal has revealed that the deal is almost done but refused to disclose further details as to costs and timeframes for completion of the acquisition.

Both Playtech and Ask Gaming were contacted for their comments on the news; Playtech spokesman declined any comments and Ask Gaming rep refused to deny the reports about the deal.

Ash Gaming is a UK-based company that has been providing innovative casino gaming solutions since 2002 to online casino operators, gaming platform providers and bookmakers.

Ash Gaming clients include 888 Holdings plc, Betfred Bingo Ltd., Gala Casino Ltd., Virgin Games Ltd. and Playtech's partner William Hill plc.

The company started with providing clients with custom-ordered gaming projects, but has quickly evolved to developing and providing a wide portfolio of multilingual gaming products to the online gaming industry.

Ash Gaming offers its product via the Gaming Technology Solutions (GTS) EdGE gaming platform, offering clients on the GTS platform with Ash Gaming's top games.

Playtech bought GTS in 2009 for €10.8 million with the total deal potentially rising to a total of €21.6 million, depending on the future performance of GTS.

If the proposed purchase will go ahead it will be Playtech's eighth acquisition within the online gaming industry since it became a publicly traded company on the London Stock Exchange, and its seventh acquisition in the last two years.
