Spain U-turn on Gambling Taxation

The Spanish government has decided to change its previously held stance regarding enforcing a turnover tax on all internet gambling in the country.

The change in position comes after much pressure from many different organizations such as the Spanish Association of Online Gamblers (AEDAPI), Remote Gambling Association (RGA) and European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA).

The new proposed legislation will enforce a far more reasonable gross profits tax and it’s a move that is welcomed by regulators and gaming operators alike and it’s a move that will not have a negative impact on the market.
