As Steve Jobs passed away last week after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, we have all come to realize how many aspects of our lives that the founder of Apple has touched. As news of his death hit headlines on Wednesday morning, tributes flooded all media outlets and social networking sites. Everybody seemed to have kind words to share.

Even the mobile gaming industry can feel the loss. Why? Well, without Steve Jobs, mobile gaming would perhaps still not have been possible. Are you carrying an iPhone? In the very likely event that you are, you can see how Steve Jobs is a little part of your own life, and for casino lovers this means the ability to log in to online casinos on the go and at any time of day or night.

The iPhone, which first reached the public in 2007, is by far the most popular of so-called 'smart phones'. Wherever you look, you will see one. And they are all hooked up to a network of applications that make the casino industry far more interesting and exciting. 2010 has also seen the arrival of the iPad, which only goes to show that this is only the beginning for casino enthusiasts.

Nobody seems to be certain of the direction Apple will move in following the passing of Steve Jobs, but he has certainly made history and touched the lives of so many people, casino enthusiasts included.

Mr Jobs is survived by his wife Laurene and their three children, and a fourth child from a previous relationship.

The casino industry and the rest of the world has truly gone silent for a week to commemorate the visionary who forever changed the world.
