Blackjack game being a game of strategy and one that does not depend solely on luck requires the player to play smartly and follow a specific strategy to ensure the player has a chance to win as many blackjack hands as possible.
Here are some key tips that will help you become a better blackjack player:

Set a Betting Limit
Never bet outside your means. In online casinos there are blackjack tables to suit every pocket and you do not have to bet $5 a hand. You can just as easily play for $0.50 per hand.

Play only up to 5% of your Bankroll
Whenever sitting at a new blackjack table allocate around 5% of your entire bankroll for your playing session at that particular table. This will help keep your spending under control.

Avoid buying insurance against dealer's blackjack
If the dealer is showing an Ace card, players can buy insurance at a cost of half their wager in case the dealer hits a blackjack. This is a waste of money. Avoid doing so.

When to always Hit
Hit (draw another card) on any hand lower than 17 when the dealer is showing any face card, 10, 9 or 8.

Double Down
Use this option whenever you are permitted; when you have a total of 9 or soft hands such as 13 – 17 against a dealers shown 4, 5 or 6.

Split the right hands
When you get a hand of to identical value cards you can split them. Never split 10's or 5's. Always split 8's or 7's when the dealer is showing equal value card or any card of lower value.
