It seems that a few too many have taken the plot of Ocean's Eleven too literally and tried to gamble with their luck in the hope of robbing casinos of millions of dollars. This particular case might not have been quite as elaborate and well-thought-out, but the robber has at least made it away unidentified and the police are still searching for him.
A man in Billings, Montana entered the Shooters Casino and Sports Bar late on Friday night (the biggest casino in the city), armed with a handgun. He pointed the handgun at a casino attendant and demanded cash. The casino attendant handed over an undisclosed sum of cash. The robber then fled the scene. He was last seen getting into a black car before making his escape.
The Billings Police Department is now investigating the incident, with a lead from a nearby resident who claims to have seen a car that matches the description of the car which the robber escaped in. The black Nissan Altima described by the resident has been impounded.
The police are still looking for the robber. He has been described as a man in his 20s and was wearing a ski-mask during the incident at the casino. The casino and police force are both adamant about catching the man and having the stolen money returned, but it seems like police might very well be hot on the robber's trail. The coming weeks will reveal if you need a plan as elaborate as in the movies to rob a casino.
