Romania to Redraft Gambling Legislation

The Romanian government has submitted a revised draft of its gambling legislation to the European Commission.

The move comes after strong objections from last year the European Commission regarding to proposed legislation that the Romanian government was trying o pass as the commission found them to be in violation of EU laws.

The new draft will be fully reviewed following the standstill period imposed on it that will end on the 1st of March 2011.

March 1st is also the date when another EU member-state Belgium will start issuing its own gambling licenses to online gaming operators.
