Poker player Viktor Blom from Sweden has won the PokerStars Super High Rollers Tournament which was part of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) which includes in it a series of poker tournaments for different types of poker, different levels of buy-in fees and different sized prize pools. The Super High Roller Tournament buy-in fee is the steepest of all the tournament events the PCA offers.
The tournament is taking place every year since 2004 at the luxurious Atlantic Resort in the Bahamas and offers a series of tournament in No Limit Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Omaha 8 and Stud 8 poker games.
The most expensive of all the tournaments offered during the PCA is the Super High Rollers Tournament taken place at the Atlantic Resort in the Bahamas and Blom took home a staggering $1,254,000 which was his share at the first place finisher.
The total tournament prize pool was $3,136,000 and it was distributed among the top five finishers of the tournament. The buy-in fee for the tournament was $100,000 for each player but many players won their ticket by qualifying on the many satellite poker tournaments with low buy-in fees that PokerStars offered on their platform.
Viktor Blom was unknown until 2011’s PCA when it was revealed by PokerStars that he is in fact PokerStars online player ‘Isildu1’ who was very active in the online realm and has made a name for himself as a tough cash player.
This year Blom returned to the PCA but attended only the most expensive event and managed to win it although there were points during the tournament when he was lagging behind like on day 2 when he lost almost half his stack.
