The WSOPE Announces 2012 Tournament Schedule

The schedule for the 6th Annual World Series of Poker Europe has just been announced. The tournament will be held at the Hotel Majestic Barriere and the Casino Barriere de Cannes Croisette in Cannes, France for the second year in a row. The two-week poker event will begin on the 21st of September and conclude on the 4th of October.

The World Series of Poker committee has chosen to schedule the poker tournament a few weeks earlier than last year so that players and spectators can make the most of their down time during Cannes’ great weather.

There are high expectations for this year’s poker tournament since last year’s tournament was crowned by the European Poker Awards as “The Best Event of the Year”. Same as last year, there will be seven sanctioned gold bracelet poker tournaments and approximately 50 poker side events during the series.

France’s restrictions however only allow for Hold’em and Omaha poker games (limit, no-limit and pot-limit) to be played so the WSOP has chosen to retain the same schedule as in 2011. There will be only a few minor changes to the event which are mostly related to the buy-ins.

The two €10,450 buy-in poker events will surely receive most of the attention. The “Mixed-Max” poker event, which is only happening for the 2nd time, will begin mid-way through the tournament with game variations changing by the day. The Euro Championship poker tournament will begin on September 29th and by the end one talented poker player will be crowned the champion.

Poker players and poker enthusiasts who can’t attend the live tournament will be able to watch a televised broadcast.
