Since the mobile casino market has emerged, Android and IOS have been the dominant opertaing systems and the software developers have been dedicated to creating applications for devices that run on those operating systems alone.
That has kept the gamblers who use Blackberry and Windows mobile devices from accessing many of the market's mobile casinos.
Microgaming have decided to turn towards the uncovered market area and developed the first-ever native mobile casino app that runs on Windows operated mobile phones. The app has arrived to Windows Phone Store in November and it carries more than 35 of the developers most popular games.
Table games, slots, video poker are promised to be regularly renewed.
The head of Microgaming casino department, John Quinn, said that statistics drove the development of the app and it has been built from scratch through native coding. He said that the statistics shows the growth of Windows phone users number in Europe.
Currently, there only casino that offers the app is JackpotCity, but Microgaming are promising to make the app available through some of it's other casinos in 2015.
Players can access the app if they own a Windows Phone that is running on either the 8.0 or 8.1 operating systems. The next operating system on the horizon is Windows 10.
