3-5-7 Poker

The game of 3-5-7 Poker is sometimes referred to as 3-5-7 Guts Poker as it actually originates from the card game Guts that is a card comparing game and on its foundation the game of 3-5-7 Poker is based.

The 3-5-7 in the name of the game refers to 3-card Poker, 5-card Poker and 7-card Poker as players play all these games in one hand. It's really three different games all rolled into one game.

Each of the games has its own advantages and payout percentage and each game requires its own wager, similarly to the way Three Card Poker is played.

The game has become very popular with players due to its simplicity, fast pace and offers high payouts for top winning hands.

The game begins when a player makes at least two wagers. The player must make a bet on the 3-card hand and the 5-card hand, leaving the 7-card bet as an option for later in the game.

Players are allowed to make different size bets on each hand. For example bet $10 on the 3-card bet and only $5 on the 5-card bet. Depending of course of the table maximum and minimum at the table you are playing at.

The player is then dealt three face-down cards and four face-down community cards. The player then needs to review their pocket cards and make a decision on whether to play the 7-card hand or surrender it without seeing any of the community cards.

Then the first game begins where the player makes up the first 3-card hand using only the three pocket cards they were originally dealt.

3-card hand pay table:
• Straight Flush 40 to 1
• Three of a kind 25 to 1
• Straight 6 to 1
• Flush 4 to 1
• Pair 1 to 1

Then the player must play the 5-card hand using the three pocket cards you were originally dealt and the first two community cards that have now been turned face-up. The lowest paying hand in the 5-card hand is a pair of 6's.

5-card hand pay table:
• Royal flush 500 to 1
• Straight flush 100 to 1
• 4 of a kind 40 to 1
• Full House 12 to 1
• Flush 9 to 1
• Straight 6 to 1
• 3 of a kind 4 to 1
• 2 pair 3 to 1
• Pair (6's or better) 1 to 1

Then the last two community cards are turned over and the 7-card hand begins. The player needs at least two pairs of 10's or higher to qualify for a win comprised of the best 5 cards out of their three pocket cards and 4 communal cards.

7-card hand pay table:
• Royal flush 100 to 1
• Straight flush 20 to 1
• 4 of a kind 7 to 1
• Full House 5 to 1
• Flush 4 to 1
• Straight 3 to 1
• 3 of a kind 2 to 1
• 2 pairs (10's of better) 1 to 1

The lowest house edge is on the 7-card hand so the best strategy is to never surrender the 7-card hand. Also the highest bet should be made on the 7-card hand and the lowest bet on the 5-card hand as it has the highest house edge of the three hands.
