Casino Holdem is a poker game based on Texas Holdem Poker but instead of playing against other players, the player is playing against the casino dealer. The dealer's hand needs to qualify in order to play and other players' hands have no bearing on the player's hand.
In some casinos the game is also known as Caribbean Hold'em. The game was first presented in the year 2000 by Stephen Au-Yeung. The game debuted in the UK in 2002 and gained a UK license in 2007.
When you play Casino Holdem you play directly against the dealer in a straightforward banking game that is action-packed and enjoys a fast pace, that in recent years has become an online casino favorite with many players.
The game rules are directly based on Texas Holdem Poker with the same hierarchy of ranking hands and the objective is the reach the best five-card poker hand. The only difference is that the dealer cannot play any hand dealt to them. The dealer must reach a qualifying hand of a pair of fours or higher.
To start playing the game the player must make an Ante bet. Two pocket cards will be dealt to the player and two pocket cards are dealt to the dealer. A flop of three communal cards will be dealt that both the player and the dealer can use for their pocket hand.
The player must then decided if they wish to continue play by clicking Call and doubling their Ante bet, or click Fold and forfeit their Ante bet. In case the player decides to call two more community cards will be dealt after the player doubled their ante bet by clicking Call.
Players must remember that the dealer might not have a pair of fours or higher and therefore would not qualify so the player might win with a high card hand and not require having a good hand to win the Ante bet and have the Call bet returned to the player.
Both the best poker hand of the player and the dealer can be comprised of five of the seven cards in play (two pocket cards and five community cards). In cases where the best hand is all five community cards the player's bet will be pushed and a new game will commence.
Players are also given an additional betting option by placing an AA Bonus bet. This bet can equal the Ante bet or be higher or lower than it. AA Bonus bet pays out when the player has at least a pair of Aces hand that is made from their two pocket cards and the flop. Hitting a pair of Aces up to a Straight will pay 7 to 1 and a Flush or higher will pay25 to 1.
The Bonus bet pays regardless of the hand of the dealer so a situation can arise when a player wins the AA Bonus bet but loses the Ante and Call bets.
All won Call bets are paid even money, however Ante bets are paid according to the following pay table: Straight or lower pays 1 to 1, Flush pays 2 to 1, Full House pays 3 to 1, Quads pay 10 to 1, Straight Flush pays 20 to 1 and Royal pays 100 to 1.
